Christmas is the time of year where you get the opportunity to really flex your culinary muscles. My house is full of people for the whole week around Christmas and with three meals per day there is plenty of cooking to be done. Decent cookware makes cooking easier and with non stick appliances it can also make the laborious task of washing up easier. Cookware can be a wonderful gift for a loved one. So get them something that they would like but might not ordinarily buy for themselves. Here are three of the best:

Bread maker
This is one of those appliances that we all wish we had but can’t really justify the expense. Many people feel that they are unlikely to use a bread maker regularly however those that do invest in one find that they end up using it much more than they ever expected. This would therefore make a wonderful gift for a loved one at Christmas.
Stand Mixer
Perfect for people that love baking a stand mixer is another luxury that many feel is too much to justify. However, anyone that has one will tell you that it makes baking much quicker and more enjoyable. This would be a great gift for someone that likes baking but feels that they don’t have the time. It is one of those gifts that could also benefit you. Think about it: give it to your wife and she might be more inclined to cook you delicious cakes!
Cast Iron Casserole Dish
This is another item that on the face of it appears expensive. A good quality casserole dish will cost over 50 pounds. Nevertheless this is an item that could quite realistically last a lifetime. So don’t opt for the cheap one. You will regret it long term. It is perfect at this time of year as now is the time for hearty stew, soup and chilli.
