Buying blinds is not always an easy proposition. You may be tempted to just buy cheap blinds but it helps to know exactly what you are looking. There is an enormous range of blinds and thousands of different types picking the right one for the right room can be tricky. Blinds tend to be suitable for different rooms and for the novice blind buyer it can be difficult to know exactly which blinds are suitable. You may be familiar with the names of blinds but knowing the exact difference can be confusing.
Blinds tend to be categorised as one of the following; Venetian blinds, Roman blinds, Pleated blinds, Wooden blinds, Roller blinds, Woodweave blinds and vertical blinds. Venetian blinds are the most recognisable blinds and have been a defining feature of old film noir films. You will have seen them in scenes where the detective stand in his office contemplating the crime he is investigating and his face is sliced with thin dark and bright slices of chiaroscuro light. His eyes look sharper in the bright light and the camera cuts to his face which is half dark, half light which in turn leads the viewer to contemplate the duality of the detective.
