Quetta is one of the scariest places that you can visit in the World without entering a war zone. Situated in the Western Frontier region of Pakistan near the Afganistan and Iran borders Quetta is in an important strategic position. It is the main exit point from the notorious Balochistan desert which itself is famed for it’s lawlessness and opium smugglers.
Before Jan Molby rose to prominence being overweight and unfit meant that your dreams of becoming a top football player were limited. However, like a true superhero, Jan taught us that the impossible is achievable. Such was his popularity in the Red side of Merseyside that ‘Jan’ featured on the top ten baby names list in Liverpool.  My Hero - Jan Molby in his prime. The portly Dane began his career at his hometown club Kolding won the Dutch league with Ajax Amsterdam before moving to Liverpool FC in 1984. He scored 44 goals in 218 games for the club and was the man of the match in the first ever Liverpool FC v Everton FA Cup Final in 1986; which Liverpool won. What a player. What a man. Once upon a time, a long time ago, when ogres lived under bridges, when no one had heard of swine flu, when dyslexic people were just thick and when a power cut didn’t mean that the family would go hungry people were happier. They were harder working and they got on with their neighbours. The question is are we now so socially retarded that we’ve forgotten how to work together as a team? Well unfortunately it appears that we have. Out is the community camaraderie: In is selfish apathy.  Spice up your team building Battle Royale style! When I arrived in Skopje, Macedonia I soon realised why no one has ever heard of this European capital. It is a dump. The most attractive tourist attraction is the supermarket and when you stroll around the grim streets you feel like the locals are eyeing up your vital organs.  Dreary, dreary Skopje |
