I have always wanted a holiday home. Somewhere that I could go away and relax from time to time. Of course there are costs involved for example maintenance, holiday home insurance and utilities but it would be lovely to escape to a place in an exotic locality but also feel at home. So where would this holiday home be? How do you choose? Would you go for an inaccessible island location in the Bahamas or South East Asia or would you opt for a place in Europe that is easy to get to? 1) Sardinia – this is my pick for a cheap holiday home. It benefits from being a short flight from the UK on a cheap airline and at the same time you get a taste of Italy, lots of beaches and isolation.
2) Ljubljana, Slovenia – A real gem of a town right in the middle of Europe. Close to skiing resorts, the beautiful lake bled it is a perfect weekend getaway.
3) Thailand – some of the most beautiful beaches and cheap flights to get there. Thailand can be visited any time of the year and you will never get bored of the place.
